About Us

Mike Langford - Proprietor:

I Started in the Motor Industry back in the 70’s, where cars were simple with points, condensers, and no diagnostic ports to plug in to.

I started my apprenticeship in a small village Garage in Durrington, which was part of the Roots group: (Imps, Avengers, and Hillman Hunters; some of you reading this may well remember those cars.

This is also where I was schooled and spent most of my childhood life. I eventually moved to Salisbury where I worked in a BMW/Peugeot Garage.

From there I went to work in the Military for short while, not that I gets many Tanks in for servicing these days! But I do however get quite a few Land Rovers.

From there I found love, moved to Southampton, and got a job in various Garages in the area, including Volvos/Alfa Romeos/Citroen & Renaults.

After working for all these Garages, I decided to start working for myself which I have been doing for over 50 years, putting all my knowledge and experience to good use, and I’ve not looked back.

I now work with my mechanic Richard in a small workshop in the Romsey area offering all the services a large Garage offers at reasonable prices.

I am also a freelance MOT tester based at two stations offering MOT’s to class 4, 5 & 7 category's PLUS we have the facilities to do motor bikes by two of our other testers. (via appointment only, please use our booking in page)

Mike is 67 as of September '21 and still trading. Showing no signs of slowing up just yet due to customer demand!

In summary, I hope you enjoyed this brief insight into how it all began.

Richard - Mechanic:

Richard has now joined up with Mike. Richard to has also been in the motor industry for over 22 years he worked at a Ford agency for 10yrs and is a Vauxhall enthusiast.

Richard is also a computer buff, great with electrics and his welding/fabrication are good too.

Richard, like Mike, is good with customers explaining everything that needs to be done, why it needs to be done and tries to get the best prices using good quality parts not cheap and nasty products.

Richard also used to be tutor teaching mechanic's to young lads who were interested in the motor-trade to get them on the ladder and hopefully into a garage. He is very good at fault finding on most things and will not give up until he has an answer of some description pertaining to the fault, whether it be a positive answer or a negative one.

Richard like Mike, is fully qualified City & Guilds trained. So between the two of them they have a good comprehensive knowledge.
